hermes am: 31 - our ability to see ourselves in the world is key to feeling a sense of belonging. the alternative can also foster a sense of trauma and neglect. thao and nu explore characters in media who play roles counter to their actual heritage and the need for more accurate portrayals in tv and film. the seed of acknowledgement is being planted, will those who have the power to include actually do that or will we have more missed opportunities to care for the cultures whose representatives are not actually seen.
