Dr. Nancy Koury King, Biography
With over 25 years of leadership experience , Dr. Nancy Koury King has been on both sides of the firing line. Her personal and professional experiences inspired her to write about the lives of people affected by involuntary job loss and how to improve the workplace. Dr. King has a doctorate in management from the Weatherhead School of Management and a Masters in Social Administration from the Mandel School at Case Western Reserve University where she studied social capital and leadership. In addition to work in health care leadership, Dr. King has served as an adjunct instructor at Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University and as a part time faculty member at Capital University where she taught business ethics. Dr. King has spoken nationally including at the Academy of Management’s Annual Meeting on the topic of social capital and leadership. Dr. King lives in Norfolk, Virginia.
Job uncertainty is the new normal. As Dr. Nancy Koury King reports, twenty-one million people involuntarily lost their jobs in 2015. She spent five years traveling the country and interviewing some of these individuals.
