A few weeks ago I saw a post from a dog trainer and she said her dog had gotten out of the backyard, presumably hopped the fence, ran into the street, and got hit by a car. He survived but was paralyzed and she decided to put him down. This dog trainer had a very well-trained dog. So what happened? What caused the dog to hop the fence out of their backyard and run away?  Fireworks can make a dog so frighten that he runs without thinking and gets hit by a car.
