Description

Is ‘Financial Independence’ only about money? Ask any woman and she will tell you ‘no.’ It’s about many other things too. In the fourth episode of Meri Pyaari Saheliyan, an audio podcast series powered by Franklin Templeton, India, Pushpa shares her story and her fresh perspective on Financial Independence.

If Pushpa had her way, she’d have been an Indian Administrative Service officer, but life had other plans. She completed her studies and was soon married, but she didn’t get the chance to work or study further. One day, she came across a newspaper article about a man who had died and whose wife didn’t have access to his finances because she didn’t have his login credentials. This made her realise that many a time, husbands don’t share details of their finances even with their wives. However, Pushpa realised the importance of financial independence only when tragedy struck.

Does Pushpa regret not being financially independent? Would it have changed her life in any way? What message does she have for millennials? Find out by listening to her words.
