50 Years of Forgotten Weightlifting Methods ft. Leo Totten
Description
In this episode, Coach Calvin and Coach Brian interview Leo Totten, a 50 year veteran of the sport and owner of East Coast Gold, one of the longest running and most dominant weightlifting clubs in the country. We discuss Leo's beginnings in the sport watching legends like Steve Stanko, Bob Bednarski, and Fred Lowe compete at York Barbell in the 1960's, training in his broom closet, to competing at the 1984 Olympic Trials. We also discuss how training has changed over the last 50 years, and what modern lifts can learn from old school methods. And finally, we cover the importance of coaching development for coaches of all experience levels.
