Transcript [0:00 ] Music. [0:52 ] Ok I’m recording after so many to be quiet ok thank you. [1:04 ] Need to find out what War I need to say no. [1:10 ] It’s warm up with a little bit of Let’s Go Deep let’s go deep nice and early. Listening to speak Sami ages most recent podcast and every now and again ill do one wear. Talking on mindfulness because usually is talking about Donald Trump or Islam. But this one is talking on mindfulness which was really good. And one of the things he said whilst you speaking to the guy I was interesting. To talk about boredom what is board on and I’ll mindfulness helps with it. And I’ve always known mindfulness is affected me in a positive way but I’ve never really been able to put my finger on it and this resonated with me some more. Do the guy or Sam said. [2:09 ] This the Way We Live is it easy to get bored I’m always looking for something to excite us didn’t say I like this for This Is My Interpretation as usual always looking for something to excited to wake us up. Something you know something few drinks. [2:34 ] Out and about something different from the usual to break the door reoccurring day. Skydiving going to an event something just something of someone not bored. What mindfulness does is it allows you to sharpen your awareness so things you’ve either as simple as wind. Passing your fingertips as you walk you can become a way to that and you’re not asleep I’m bored. [3:19 ] I can’t. I can’t articulate any better than that but big some nature’s most recent podcast I think it’s called a drive or something to do with that cos he’s been interviewed on some other guy show it really really really really great. I want how to geek they have mentioned in a Windows update coming out early next year with getting sand boxing baby. So thinking like virtual machine. You can run straight from the desktop but it’s later it’s built into Windows it becomes one of those features that you are that you had a feature through Adam remove, and then you can I don’t know exactly out to get away but you’ll be able to right click on the X Y and just do running sandbox, and it’ll pop up another window which is like an isolated VM quickly execute it and then you’ll be able to see the behaviour. [4:20 ] Now it all looks pretty cool but you know what two missing for me. Maybe this this is the turkey rather than that just the end-user is when you run any Exe see it’s going to do a lot more than what visual. Actually any virus or malware worth it’s salt. Example you downloaded filezilla and it was infected with some malware, you’ve run it and it’ll probably install and where I can do everything and look normal but behind the scenes going to be putting some hooks in the registry in doing some dodgy shit. What I read about the Sandbox in Windows will allow you to run it in this isolated environment visualise it and then when you shut down because the Sandbox you know it wipes it. You’re not gonna be able to George just through seeing what it does as it doesn’t Pop Up and like fucking Jurassic Park no no no no no no I like it in the Sandbox when you double click it opens up another window later registry monitor, at the very least and maybe so just start up monitor. [5:31 ] You know what changes have been made to start up what changes have been made to the registry the very least those two things you could start do not process stuff but might get too heavy, mini PC to doing some dodgy hooks in i.e. or adding to the Startup or messing around the registry you could just say no thanks, so what be really fucking good in general are some kind of loads that allows you know quickly and we can get onto or separately but you can just say. Inspector Gadget mode and you run the exc and it shows just a little glimpse of what’s been changed in your registry and you start up or and I may be a hoax or browser huh, so yes that one anyway. Of year next year of the fox says no to yes it’s a joke, the joke best way to spoil them is to give a heads up but anyway joke aside Spencer grand hiring a lamp a limousine and then found out it doesn’t come with the driver, can’t believe I spent all that money and have nothing to show for it. [6:47 ] Oh yeah this came in so I subscribe to ice thickness route little Lincs enquiry. Oh well to a joke actually I subscribe to on reddit if you change the URL you can turn into an RSS feed I don’t know what I RSS feeds died by the way things are the best, why I consume internet content while I do know I did I did you put 8 or 2, introduce an ad model really efficiently could use to polish it just why I love it. So I messed around with the links I get RSS feed from Reddit and I get shit email to me out top months stuff, and I do that for science because science is a really aggressive subreddit in terms of its trips all the comments and just Focuses on good information. I’m one of the ones I got last week was anxious teens gain confidence by performing arts group. Improvisational Theatre training can reduce fear fullness and anxiety amongst teens struggling with social interactions eccetera blah blah blah. Now the way I do these podcasts which is completely off script. [8:04 ] Search me to fold really teach you to think on your feet and I do think it gives me general public confidence. In general conversation which is. Are two of the majority the reason I do these things because I’m not making money from them but it’s great to practice your speech and communication which is so important in life this resident of with me as well this one and you know what honestly, one of the best things you can do I think is great a podcast for your own development even if you’ve got no listeners just put it out there, do it for yourself and practice talking off script do you or don’t you decide. [8:55 ] I don’t have that wet fucking shit this is overcome that somehow some skills. [9:06 ] Lost connections. Under covering a real cause of depression and unexpected Solutions started listening to this book lost connections. Uncovering the real causes of causes of depression by Johann Hari if you know what it’s fucking brilliant it really is it’s a really really good book I’m not going to maybe I’ll go into a little bit. Basically did antidepressants and he was an advocate of them for a long time while she was younger, and then he was researching them and effectively this big guy said no there’s more to it than just taking antidepressants it’s more than just brain chemistry and in balance he was angry, then he started looking into it and you got all the all the reports that companies, submitted to the FDA to get these drugs Justified the long and short of it is all you need to have to reports that say that gives a positive effect but doesn’t matter how many studies you do you can do for 100 trials. 400 trials and only two of them need to show positive results and then even in those two trials when you dive into the data. [10:25 ] The results of questionable when you look into the full 400 reports it starts getting deep, I’m basically the long and short of it is antidepressants and I’m not I’m not saying this because I’ve not finished the book I have used them historically and for the nine months I was on it I found it really hard life what it work well but, the whole point in the book is maybe maybe there’s no limit of Placebo going on there. And I don’t know man I’m not it’s a really really good book I’m not going to give my break down to Nottingham finish there. And I listen to an audible and the guy who wrote the book read it and it reads it really well so lost connections, I’ve always been an advocate of antidepressants but it’s always good to get information on the other side to even if you think it’s nonsense or maybe even more so if you feel it’s nonsense, give this book a lesson it’s fucking it’s good it’s good good information in there that’s what’s important in science, researched information not just opinions and you can see that because the guy went in and an advocate off them and from his research to try and prove the strength of it he’s changed his mind. [11:49 ] So to finish off we have got something to do with my. [11:59 ] Child eating meat shoes interesting. [12:05 ] My child not eating me I don’t I don’t really know why I forwarded this for. [12:15 ] Me and my wife having a discussion on the email and it was basically to do with a parent in school. [12:23 ] Forced a child to eat me a lot forced it would said I would not meet its fucking sweet easier go on the kid at the meeting. My wife was like that’s not good what I said it’s the context that’s important as what my response was our daughter doesn’t eat meat, and she doesn’t eat meat because she doesn’t want animals to have been harmed, yeah we try and tempt with McDonald’s and sounds fucking awful but I don’t care as it actually think me too good for you. It’s important part of your diet and she’s only 4 so she’s growing so I do try and get it to eat meat. My wife’s not even a vegetarian to talk with trying to get her to eat meat for her in that sense but she doesn’t want to eat me because. [13:15 ] Animals have been hurt and Joe what that’s brilliant to Craig Martin a big standing in it. Dad used to worry about the health components and not eating meat at such a young age but, we will order to make her own choice in that regard but what I said to my wife regarding the other child was it depends why did the child wasn’t eating meat the other child of the other pa
