Description

Boredom, creativity, granting one’s mind room to wander, rainy train rides, airplane WiFi, productivity, phone addiction, sensory deprivation tanks, increasing one’s awareness, the city at night, party music in department stores, marathon running, mediation (and hysterical crying), being who we think we are, understanding our purpose, group behaviour, and being a mere monkey in a group (...of monkeys).

Julia Chatain (@thediverter_) is a doctoral student in Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. She is fascinated by the role of concreteness in mathematics education and, in particular, she explores how our bodies can help develop intuition about abstract concepts.

Recorded in Zürich on March 20, 2022.
