Description

For years America was a country that modeled democratic norms, not only in our institutions but our civil society. Over the last two decades, however, we have started to normalize extremism in thought, word, and deed. In the shadow of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America, Matthew takes a look at how and why we normalized these dangerous ideas and what we can do to overcome them. From vaccines to rhetoric to riots, both liberals and conservatives have normalized behavior that two decades ago would have been unthinkable. Now, they are broadcast every day and we simply shrug our shoulders. How can you fight the apathy of malaise? Matthew provides answers for how we can become the country we claim to be while ridding ourselves of the abnormal actions we’ve come to normalize.
