Teri Lynn Kim is the founder of the National Center for Counseling Services & Training LLC (NCCST). She is originally from Hawaii and relocated to Nevada in 2021. She now services Hawaii and Nevada and plans to expand her services along the west coast. The NCCST was developed with the focus of providing genuine, empathetic, and effective treatment in mental health services and establishing a training center for graduate and post-graduate students, mental health professionals, and Christian counselors seeking specialized training.Teri Lynn’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Redemption Bible College, a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, a Master of Philosophy in Psychology from Walden University, and a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. She is a licensed mental health counselor and a licensed minister from His Highest Praise International, Inc.

Being raised in Hawaii, aloha and genuine care are the cornerstones of Teri Lynn’s heart. Throughout her career, she was a schoolteacher for over 10 years working in general and special education. She also was a school principal for 4 years prior to her transition into the mental health clinic in 2015. Teri Lynn developed a passion for working with children, adolescents, couples, military, and veterans. In addition, she services the underserved populations as a way for her to give back and make a positive impact in the community. She has volunteered experience at Weinberg Village Transitional Shelter in Waimanalo, HI, facilitating parenting workshops and psychotherapy to individuals and families.

Teri Lynn also has volunteered experience conducting psychoeducational and psychosocial services at Koolau Clubhouse in Kaneohe, HI, and currently participates as a board member for Waipahu Clubhouse in Waipahu, HI, providing therapeutic consultation and strategies for effective rehabilitation programs.

Her therapeutic approach entails a variety of modalities, which include person-centered, strength-based, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Person-centered therapy emphasizes that each client has individual needs, values, beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and goals. Therefore, the treatment is individualized. Strength-based focuses on the client’s strengths as a vehicle for resiliency and hope to work through their difficulties. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) concentrates on distorted thought patterns that negatively affect moods and problematic behaviors. CBT has been widely used to effectively treat a variety of disorders that include anxiety, depression, panic attacks, eating disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, and many other mental conditions.Teri Lynn has knowledgeable experience treating anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, phobias, stress, grief, bipolar, addictions, posttraumatic stress disorder, and couples counseling. She also provides effective parenting training, bereavement groups, mindfulness workshops, and addiction support groups. She has a growing interest in multiculturalism, thriving in the pandemic, removing the stigma of mental health, community outreach programs, and Christian counseling.
