Continue: the nonviolent but verbally and emotionally abusive type sounds like what Robert was. And his wife may have put up with that for a long time. But they sound like very quiet and private people. I wonder if she started to rebel against his control and that didn’t go over well with Robert. Usually the most dangerous time for a woman is when she starts to fight back or threatens to leave.
Regarding his friend from the last episode, that was having a hard time thinking this man could’ve killed his family. She saw him mostly in a work environment and on occasional weekend outings. Other friends saw him in a different way. Humans have different sides in different environments. I truly think some people can hide their true self easily. I feel Robert was one of these people. The friend that described him as being controlling in an emotional/verbal way rather than in a violent way
