A Conversation with Sema Martin - Full-Time Artist & Author of Art is My Career

Today I am talking to Sema Martin who is a full-time artist living in the South of France. Before becoming an artist Sema worked as an Aerospace engineer and interned at the NASA Ames Research Centre in California.
Sema achieved two master's degrees in aerospace and space engineering and was about to pursue my PhD when she rediscovered her love of art. In 2016 Sema launched a pet portrait commission business with the help of social media and decided to leave her engineering career behind and pursue her true passion.
In May 2020 Sema published my first book called 'Art is my career - How to start an art business' which has now sold over 2,000 copies. Sema is passionate about showing the world that art can be a real career and should be respected as much as engineering careers are.
