1. Baptism is a step of obedience.
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” The John consented.
Matthew 3:15
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

2. Baptism is a symbol and sign of a greater reality…
A.) … of forgiveness.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins …
Acts 2:38
B.) … of leaving our lives as we know it.
Since you died with Chris to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules:
Colossians 2:20
C.) … of experiencing a new life with Jesus.
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:1
3. In baptism, we can experience the supernatural.
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water … And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
