A Platform for Things
Update: 2014-09-03
Description
The Internet of Things is often described in high level details without a lot of substance or in very low level details without a lot of context. In this talk, I’d like to talk about the experiences I had working on the Internet of Things from my time at Nest Labs and in working with various customers working on solutions in this space with Microsoft and what I see as the principal design points of the Internet of Things from that perspective. I’d also like to introduce the audience to Nitrogen, an open source platform for the Internet of Things that I maintain that implements these design principals around open messaging between devices and applications, a distributed network, easy application model, and security and privacy.
