It is much more painful to be badly treated by somebody you love than by a stranger, and the Holy Spirit of God is very close to us, given to us by God to abide in our hearts.  God continues to give second chances, forgiving all sin against the Son, but we are warned that sin against the Spirit is unpardonable.  If we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit and reading the scriptures to learn more about God’s way, then He will help us in our walk as yielded vessels.
