Description

Adelita Serena is a Climate Action Organizer in the Capital Region of California. She has lived in Woodland for nearly two decades and grew up in Salinas as part of a farm-working family. Adelita started organizing when she was in high school, rallying her peers to put on street performances about local issues. Adelita would eventually attend college becoming a member of MEChA and a student leader organizing a statewide conference that would bring MEChA members from all around California. As the mother of two teenage boys, Adelita has become increasingly concerned about climate change impacts they are already experiencing, from extreme heat to wildfires. She is passionate about developing and centering the leadership of women from marginalized communities to achieve energy democracy and preserve a livable climate. Thank you Adelita for all you do to make this world better.
