Despite the prevalence of autism diagnosis in recent years, there still remains a severe lack of quality services for autistic children. So today we're going to discuss our take on why there are too few services for people on the spectrum!
This phenomenon can be attributed to several influential factors, including the fact that many misconceptions about autism continue to exist today, making it harder for people to understand the lifelong struggles faced by those with autism. These myths can also lead people to underestimate the number of specialized services quickly becoming necessary, leading to a dangerous lack of services that affect every neurodivergent.
