Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Can you guess the subject of this photograph? It was taken around 1945 and is the mirror of the 200 Inch Hale Telescope at Palomar Observatory being ground and polished. At the time it was the world’s largest telescope. You’ll learn some interesting facts about the telescope and the mirror in the fourth segment of this week’s show and hear some “reflective” records. In other segments, we’ll celebrate the birthdays of Stella Unger and Abe Olman. We’ll also have a bovine segment, and hear more from and about Grandpa Bob Effros. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
