Aaron Shope, public speaker and addiction counselor gets personal about the traumas in his life, his struggles with addiction, how he was able to overcome addiction, and that anyone and everyone has that same capability to win their most personal battles.
His journey to adulthood included his mom leaving suddenly when he was 5 months old and using him as the excuse, being put into the foster system with a corrupt foster agent, being abused, his brother falling into addiction and ultimately being shot by his Dad, who then had to handle the trauma of what had happened. By the time, Aaron was able to get clean, he had tried approximately 25-30 times with varying degrees of effort.
