As Malawi approaches its pivotal 2025 elections, a critical question to ask is whether promises made to citizens in the run-up to the last elections have been fulfilled.
2. Ivory Coast - Yamoussoukro,
Ivory Coast's presidential race took a dramatic turn this week as two major opposition figures were officially barred from next month’s election.
The Constitutional Council announced that former president Laurent Gbagbo and former Credit Suisse CEO Tidjane Thiam are ineligible to run in the October 25th vote. The council cited their removal from the electoral roll as the reason for their exclusion.
3. Sudan - Khartoum
Sudan’s capital Khartoum was plunged into darkness early yesterday after drone attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) triggered a major power outage across the city.
