Politicians lie. We all know this. But today, they lie different. Politicians used to take a fact or a recent event and then paint it in a way that made themselves look good, or their opponents look bad. But even the spin contained a nugget of fact. Nowadays, that nugget is gone. Politicians still lie, but on the right, they go farther. These days, the American right doesn't deal in lies, but rather in outright fiction. They simply make stuff up. We discuss this and more with former congressman Bob Ney and Investigative Journalist Greg Palast.
