Concurrently, a $94M Montgomery Intermodal Container Transfer Facility is under construction, streamlining goods movement between central Alabama manufacturers and Mobiles container terminal. The new Pier B South, set to open in 2023, will be 1,500 feet long and equipped for modern cranes and shore power. The Montgomery facility, expected to open in 2027, will directly link CSX Intermodal rail services to Mobiles seaport, bolstering the states logistics infrastructure and supporting its expanding manufacturing sector.
