Description

In this episode, I talk with Alan Fehr, creator and performer of The Naked Mennonite—a provocative one-person show that blends gay burlesque with Mennonite history and theology.

We talk about why he created the show, how it evolved from comedy into emotional vulnerability, and what it’s like to perform with a Bible in hand. Alan shares stories of unexpected audience reactions, challenges common stereotypes about Mennonite identity, and explains how performance can become a space for healing, humor, and hope.

The Naked Mennonite: LIVE will be part of this year’s Fundy Fringe Festival in Saint John, New Brunswick. Catch the show at the BMO Studio Theatre from Tuesday, August 19 to Saturday, August 26.
