Amazon’s Cloud Unit Posts Fastest Growth Since 2022 on AI Push
Update: 2025-10-31
Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) delivered its fastest revenue growth in nearly three years, with a 20% jump to $33 billion in Q3, surpassing analysts' expectations of around 18%. This positive performance, along with strong results in retail and advertising, has boosted investor confidence. Amazon's AI tools, such as Rufus and Bedrock, are making a significant impact, with Rufus alone potentially adding $10 billion in annual sales. The company is investing heavily in AI partnerships and custom chips, with an $8 billion investment in AI start-up Anthropic and the creation of a new custom chip, Trainium2. Despite competition from Microsoft and Google, Amazon expects its data center capacity to double by 2027 and remains competitive in the cloud market.
