very bad.
Wow! Be careful ordering "books" these days on Amazon or other download services. This isn't a book. It isn't even worthy of being a third grade history textbook. Paragraphs on events, with no insight. 50 paragraphs to be exact. Very, very bad.
The Extraordinary History of the Most Powerful Nation in the World!
This book focuses on the events that resulted in the US which began as a loose confederation of 13 states to become the most powerful nation in the world in a little more than 230 years. Conceived in the belief that the US stands for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness the author describes how these values endured through the almost continuous wars it fought to achieve its present land mass, economic and military power and status on the world stage. No other world power in the history of mankind can equal the kind of growth and power of the US, while maintaining the level of freedom enjoyed by its citizens and democratic government. I believe the author does a great job of describing this amazing history! It is a good read and a story all Americans should know!
A very informative and enriching read!
A very informative and enriching read! It is good to know the history of our country especially the major events that shaped and played a historic implications to our countryâs growth and brought us where we are today. Some things are best understood if we go backwards. This book brings us to the different historic events that the United States of America has experienced. It points out the major turning points of the American history namely the Declaration of Independence, the Great Depression and World War II. This gives me enough knowledge of how America emerged as a great nation.
An amazing summary of American History
When I was younger, I did not appreciate or understand the importance of history. But I realized that history is important because it may sound that it is in the past, but it was what made United States what it is now. The events discussed in the book are meant to give quick but comprehensive summary of an entire countryâs history. History details are discussed starting all the way from the beginning in the time of the Indians, to the Bill of Rights to the Civil War, to the Great Depression, to World War 2, all the way to Hurricane Katrina. I was happy that I read this book because it educated me and gave me a clearer understanding of history. Great read.
Good as an overview or a reminder
Similar to other books from this author that I have read, this is also an interesting overview of a big part of history.
