An Awakening in Real Time, with Jessica Desilets
Description
Jessica Desilets spent her childhood as a Catholic, but in later years felt confused by the notion that such a loving and forgiving god could simultaneously be so harshly judgmental. As she grew into young adulthood, she turned to alcohol as a means to numb herself from childhood trauma and societal messaging, eventually finding herself in recovery at AA. Following a seemingly random intuitive hit to pack up and and move across the country to Virginia, she discovered The Monroe Institute, and decided to gift herself a retreat for her fortieth birthday. Jessica’s intense, and unimaginably beautiful spiritual experiences happened here, just months before the time of this recording, and she very bravely chose to describe it publicly for all of us to witness. Jessica is not a trite imitation, but an experiential, embodied example of what it is to remember the essence of what we really are - the entire universe, infinite and eternal, love.

**NOTE: In this episode, Jessica and Natalie make it clear to listeners that “it’s okay to be happy.” At the time of recording this, both Gaza and Epstein are on most people’s minds, which can unfortunately make the above statement quite controversial. Yet, we want to make it clear that here at Tales from the Truth Seekers, we do not condone spiritual bypassing, and the statements are much more nuanced than they may seem. We believe in sacred rage, and taking enlightened action for helping to ease the suffering of others. We also share in the feelings of powerlessness that so many of you are experiencing, and even though it might not feel like it in the moment, connecting with the sacred, and with our inner source of joy, is one of the most powerful things you can do in times like these. After you’ve raised the money, called the senator, petitioned, protested, donated, and voted, participating in the divinity and joy of your every day life can help ground you to, not just fight against insanity and fear, but to become the living antidote.
