We talk about how he got his start training in a church, putting space heaters in a parking lot in a Buffalo NY winter, getting his first building and running out of money, hiring people and realizing he was a bad manager, mental health struggles that are so relatable for many entrepreneurs, his run as president of the IACP, his brush with allowing his ego to change in a way he hated, prioritizing his family and mental well-being over business, and how he successfully pivoted to an online subscription model with Consider the Dog in order to reach and help more owners and trainers, while still maintaining a physical location - WHEW!!
