1. Anchored in community

2 Thessalonians 1:1

• We grow together.

“your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.”

2 Thessalonians 1:3

“we keep on praying for you” 2 Thessalonians 1:11

• We go through tough times together

“We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and

faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships” 2 Thess. 1:4

2. Anchored in eternity

“God will provide relief for you who are suffering. He will do this when

the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven.” 2 Thessalonians 1:7

• We are loved by God

“God is love” 1 John 4:8

“loved by the Lord” 2 Thessalonians 2:13

“God our Father, who has loved us” 2 Thessalonians 2:16

• We are chosen by God

“God has chosen you….God called you through the gospel”
