McNair Discovery Learning Academy on August 20th. Thanks to the bravery and dedication of the school staff and law enforcement agencies, the day ended with no loss of live, no injuries. The video profile debuted at the regularly scheduled DeKalb County Board of Commissioners Meeting. During that meeting commendations were given to the many selfless heroes responsible for the day's successful and peaceful end.

These awards recognized Tuff and law enforcement personnel and emergency personnel who were engaged in the apprehension of an armed gunman at the Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy elementary school on August 20, 2013.
