Apple Plans OLED Upgrades For iPad Mini, iPad Air, And MacBook Air
Update: 2025-10-29
Description
Apple is reportedly testing OLED displays for upcoming devices like the iPad mini, iPad Air, and MacBook Air, aiming to provide more reasons for users to upgrade. The iPad mini eight, with a code name J five ten, is expected to launch next year with a water-resistant design and a unique vibration-based speaker system. OLED displays offer better colors, deeper blacks, and higher contrast than LCD screens, but may lead to higher prices. While the iPad mini and other Apple devices may see price bumps, not all Apple devices are expected to switch to OLED screens immediately, with the iPad Air and MacBook Air sticking with LCD screens for now. The MacBook Air's OLED switch might not happen until 2028, and a foldable eighteen-inch iPad with an OLED screen has been pushed back to 2029.
