As we approach the modern day Download Festival at Castle Donington, Olly Barnes takes us back to the eve of the Monsters of Rock at the same venue in 1988. A superlative bill of bands promised a classic but what followed was tragedy. Listen to Tommy Vance's Friday Rock Show originally broadcast the night before the event in what was to become the 'calm before the storm'. The show includes a report on the events of that day and respects paid to the fans who died.
