One of my favorite quotes, is Dave Brailsford, and it essentially suggests if you're not doing everything you possibly can, to be the best version of yourself, you can't expect to win. However if you're willing to do everything you possibly can, that gives you the BEST possible chance of winning. Simple really, just do everything you can to win.
