This is Assignment: Radio, KGOU's student-produced public affairs program focusing on issues and events on the University of Oklahoma campus. One of the things National Public Radio is known is the powerful one-on-one interviews of journalists like Terry Gross and Diane Rehm. This week the Assignment Radio student reporters try their hand at the format… One guest, one microphone and a few questions in mind to help us gain some insights into the lives and experiences of others. First, Patrick Smith talks with a University of Oklahoma professor who displayed his knowledge a couple of months ago on a national stage – competing on one of America’s longest-running game shows.” Then, Sarah Hurd speaks to host of World Views and Dean of the College of International studies Suzette Grillot about her tips for women pursuing careers. Courtney Kearby talks to student veteran who has conflicted feelings about the time he spent in the marines. And, Patrick Smith explores the hobby of drone flying.
