Audio : What motivates us to act (to do karma)?
Update: 2021-03-19
Description
Karma, in the sense of action is normally done for one four reasons, according to Kunda Guruji :
- phalApEkSa : a desire for results/benefits.
- rAga dvESa : emotions like fondness and hatred
- sanga : attachment
- ahankAra : the sense of doership (I am the doer).
Absence of these reasons – leads to karmayoga.
There are 3 kinds of karmacOdana – motives (drivers) for karma according to Bhagavad Gita : Chapter 18.
- Knowledge or gnyAna
- That which is to be known – gnyEyam
- The knower – parignyAta
