The Australian government is launching a new commission to bolster veteran well-being, with a focus on suicide prevention. Notably, retired ADF members are ineligible to lead this body. The commissioner must not have served in the ADF within the past five years. Recruitment is ongoing, with the commission officially operational since late September. The government has accepted most of the Royal Commissions recommendations, with nine already implemented and work in progress on another one hundred and ten.
