- INTRODUCING THE NEW TESTAMENT:
- The New Testament is the second part of the Christian Bible, containing 27 books written in Koine Greek that detail the life of Jesus, his teachings, and the beginnings of the early Christian Church.
- It consists of the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), the Acts of the Apostles, numerous Epistles (letters), and the Book of Revelation. Christians view the New Testament as the fulfillment of the Old Testament's prophecies and the record of God's new covenant through Jesus Christ.
- KEY CONTENT AND STRUCTURE:
- The Gospels: These four books recount the birth, life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Acts of the Apostles: This book describes the events following Jesus's ascension, including the birth and spread of the Christian Church and the activities of his early followers.
- The Epistles (Letters): A collection of letters written by various apostles and early Christian leaders, offering guidance and instruction to the nascent Christian communities.
- The Book of Revelation: The final book, filled with symbolic language, which some believe describes future events, including Jesus's second coming and the end of the world.
