Beating Tranmere convincingly at home in the league, with a hattrick from Michael Mellon helping his dad beat his former club, has to be the most satisfying result since 1st June 2025. Unfortunately it has come at a price with Jack Stevens suffering what appears to be a broken collarbone and Mike Fondop receiving a red card simply for having the audacity to exist. Has this win set Latics up for a happy Christmas for once?
