Russia is to host the first ever summit of Great BRICS in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan. With ten members, BRICS currently accounts for around 32 percent of global output of natural gas, and 43 percent of crude oil, and has surpassed the G7 in terms of GDP. More than 30 countries have expressed interest in joining the bloc. What will top the agenda at this year's summit? Why is the bloc becoming so popular?
