Recorded on October 6, 2025, from the Way Out Deck, this is the sound of a Barred Owl establishing his winter territory in the woods behind the dogtrot. After a day of rain, the clouds drift away to reveal a rising super Harvest Moon. Crickets provide a soft, steady backdrop while the gentle creak of the deck and the squeak of a door mark quiet human presence as the owl begins his haunting hoo-aww calls from the tall pines.
