Becks Reeves – Poultry Manager
Description
Becks Reeves is the dedicated Poultry Manager at Sir Richard Sutton Ltd overseeing the care and management of a thriving flock of 30,000 chickens.
With a deep passion for animal welfare, Becks originally pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian. However, after discovering her love for hands-on care, she transitioned into the role of a veterinary nurse, where she gained valuable experience working closely with animals of all kinds.
Over time, Becks' career took a new direction, and she found her niche in poultry management, where her expertise in animal care and her strong organisational skills have made her an invaluable asset. Today, as Poultry Manager, she is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the chickens under her care, overseeing everything from feeding and health monitoring to maintaining optimal living conditions. Her work also includes managing biosecurity protocols, improving production efficiency, and ensuring compliance with animal welfare standards.
In this episode we find out what it takes to be a poultry manager and what advice Becks would give to anyone considering a similar career path to hers.
