Becoming Comfortably Uncomfortable, with Robyn Ivy
Description
In this week’s solo episode, I’m diving into a question I’ve been sitting with lately: Are we tolerating discomfort because it’s familiar — or are we willing to choose a new kind of discomfort that could actually change our lives?
After weeks of navigating illness, shifting plans, and a few humbling setbacks, I’ve had a front-row seat to the many forms of discomfort — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I share some of those stories with you in this episode, from parenting to natural childbirth to Lyme disease weight gain and even learning to golf in flip flops (yes, really).
Here’s the truth: if we want real change, we have to get better at being uncomfortable on purpose. Not just enduring hard things, but choosing the kind of challenge that sets us free.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, burnt out, or craving something new — this one’s for you.
💡 3 Takeaways from This Episode
🌀 We All Tolerate More Than We Admit
Sometimes the pain we know feels safer than the unknown we need. But freedom begins with naming what we’re enduring… and why.
🔥 Growth Demands New Discomfort
Whether it’s a tough conversation, starting something new, or breaking an old habit, change always involves risk. But choosing a new kind of discomfort is the only way to build a life that actually fits.
🧠 Discomfort is a Skill You Can Build
Learning to be with discomfort - and not let it hijack you - is a practice. With support, strategy, and self-awareness, you can build resilience and reclaim your power.
If this episode resonated and you’re ready to move beyond the discomfort that’s been holding you back, I’d love to support you.
