Catherine’s story of being resourceful as a founder bootstrapping is so inspiring for other founders out there.
She broke it down into the following steps:
🧡 When she pitched her idea to 2 of her friends: She found 2 co-founders - one specialising in B2B Tech Sales and the other one specialising in Product Design.
🧡 When she approached University of Sydney with the idea, they suggested her to apply at the Incubator Pre-Accelerator Program. That’s what I would call Luck + Timing + Capitalising at the right opportunity. And she learnt the art of simply ask questions even if you don’t know anything at that stage.
🧡 During the Pre-Accelerator Program, they must have done around 100 customer interviews and found out answers to: who’s the customer base, how do we solve this problem and much more.
🧡 During this time, she heard a lot of Podcasts and got advise/ tips from different mentors. And that's so important to do, especially at the initial few stages of building up your idea.
🧡 She is based out of Fishburners and so she has also made sure to fully utilise the resources there: from talking to industry mentors, business advisors and much more; to utilising the vibrant space there and attending so many great networking events there.
