Meanwhile, her ex-husband's past decisions are catching up with him, her sister is struggling through her own directionless life and her mother is about to make a choice that will profoundly affect them all.
Critic Reviews:
"Blain just gets better and better...so commanding and beautifully written it made me cry." (Charlote Wood, author of The Natural Way of Things)
"Blain is a quietly profound writer and this is a remarkable book." (Michelle de Kretser)
Members Reviews:
A sad closure
As a lover of Georgia Blaine's often plaintive writing it is with some sorrow that I read this, her final book. And the subject matter added a great sense of melancholy to the descriptions of the landscapes, weather and human relationships, like she is herself taking a last and longing look around before departing.
So this is life
Good portrayal of human failings and strengths. Well written descriptions
Oh My!
I could not put this book down...Georgia Blain is a beautifully talented writer! Highly recommend...
Four Stars
So sad that we have lost such an impressive author.
