This is the keynote presentation for the Bias in AI session, part of the Tech and Digital Section of the NI Science Festival held on 23-February, 2021.
This session covers where bias comes from, some common examples of cognitive biases, current examples of both sociological bias as well as endemic bias in technology companies, a cycle for disrupting bias in AI development, and a call to action.
