Finspan is a 1–5 player board game where players act as marine researchers competing to collect the most points by discovering and observing various aquatic life across different ocean zones. Gameplay involves playing fish cards, diving to gain benefits, and strategically managing eggs, young, and schools to maximize points. The game features four weeks of play with end-of-week scoring based on achievement tiles and end-of-game scoring based on fish, eggs, young, schools, and consumed fish. The game's components include ocean mats, fish cards, divers, and achievement tiles, reflecting the diverse marine life. Scientific accuracy in representing marine biology was a design goal.
