She was also known as Tragedy Queen who lived a very troubled life. In approximately 33 years career, she starred in approximately 103 films. After starting out in films as a child artist, she became one of the most successful and sought after leading lady of Hindi cinema. At the peak of her career, Meena Kumari was the highest-paid actress of her generation, and was the first to mentor and help newcomers like Rajinder Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Dharmendra.
