In the late 19th century throughout West & Central Africa, accounts and reports of a mysterious group of individuals more a kin to that of a secret society , were being recorded and published reporting tales of truly odd and heinous events that not only would shock the locals and civilians in the area but would send foreigners and western media of the time into a frenzy . These widespread accounts over decades and across the continent would detail a peculiar phenomenon of which It was believed that members of this supposed society could transform themselves or shapeshift into leopards through the use of witchcraft or magic in which they could mentally and spiritually alter into their leopard state , a metamorphosis and just as leopards do , they would hunt, kill, and eat their prey, a tale that seems more the creation of a dark work of fiction than it does of reality.
