Boundary_layers_developing_in_channel
Update: 2014-09-13
Description
I took this bit of video footage in Ivybridge town centre. It shows the river Erme flowing over a stone obstacle on its bed. There is a rectangular channel cut through the obstacle, in which the development of (from the upstream to the downstream side) first laminar boundary layers, then turbulent boundary layers, then fully-developed pipe flow, can be seen.
