Austin received his bachelor’s in finance from San Diego State University. He has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and a certificate of financial planning from Wake Forest University.

Austin currently serves as the chairman on the board of directors for the Helotes Area Chamber of Commerce and is a director for the Helotes Economic Development Corporation where he serves his community and neighbors by growing and developing businesses in Helotes. He also sits on the board of directors for the Bandera Natural History Museum.

Austin lives in Helotes, Texas with his wife and four young daughters. He enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hunting, camping, smoking briskets and taking in sporting events.
