According to multiple news and wrestling news outlets, WWE Superstar CM Punk has reportedly left the company after a dispute with management before the January 27th edition of Monday Night Raw. As reported by prowrestling.net, Punk supposedly had a verbal altercation with WWE creative members and doctors over a possible concussion the Straight Edge Superstar is said to have suffered during the Royal Rumble match this past Sunday. Following Punk’s argument with WWE Officials, he told WWE head Vince McMahon that he was “going home”. Punk’s decision to leave subsequently left WWE to revise and rewrite their entire show for that Monday night, leading to several booking and creative changes that were directly related to Punk’s absence. This incident, however, was only the catalyst in a long line of supposed issues that Punk had had with WWE over the last year. TMZ reported on Wednesday that Punk was upset over the role and subsequent push returning part time wrestlers like The Rock and Batista (who won the Royal Rumble Punk was eliminated from on Sunday) have had in recent years. Punk was also unsatisfied with his creative direction heading into Wrestlemania, the biggest pay-per-view of the year that is set to take place in New Orleans in April. As of Thursday night, WWE is yet to comment on Punk’s absence but the star has been removed from all WWE live events for the foreseeable future.
