CONSTITUTIONAL LAW PROFESSOR ANALYZES THE LEGAL CHALLENGES TO EVICTION MORATORUMS

Description

ASU Constitutional Law Professor Ilan Wurman joins Mark Zinman on the Zona Law Podcast to discuss the constitutional issues raised by federal and state eviction moratoriums that have been implemented over the past 15 months.  Currently, there are several federal lawsuits challenging the Center for Disease Control eviction moratorium, including one case that is being appealed to the United States Supreme Court.  Whether or not something is constitutional, implicates numerous areas of the law and legal principles.  We were lucky to have Professor Wurman join us to discuss these complicated issues.  Professor Wurman provides an excellent, in depth analysis of the issues, in an understandable and approachable manner.

As of June 8, 2021, while there are cases holding the CDC unconstitutional, those rulings are stayed on appeal, and thus the CDC eviction moratorium continues to be enforced.
